Amy re-purposing flowers from Leslie & Randy's wedding

Cait delivering posie bouquets to the retirement home in Stittsville

I created the reBloomed project during the tear-down of my very first wedding. My couple had spent a few thousand dollars filling their venue with gorgeous blooms. While tearing down I asked what they wanted to do with them and they told me just to throw them out.

I hated the idea of all that waste and asked if I could donate them instead. So I spent roughly 4 hours the next day making little hand-tied posies and brought them to the retirement home near my house. The residents went crazy for them and told me how much it brightened their day.

So many of my couples have allowed me to donate their flowers after their wedding, and it has become one of my favourite parts of my job!

The Algonquin College Event Management Program was the most valuable education that I took part in. The program is a perfect balance between in-class and hands-on learning, and the professors care deeply about setting their students up for the best possible future.

As part of the program, students are required to form groups and plan a fundraising event with a zero-dollar budget. All proceeds from the events go towards the Children's Wish Foundation, raising more than $1M to date!

The program director brings in seasoned industry professionals to work with each group, helping them to refine their event and make it a great success.

I love working with these students, seeing their passion and enthusiasm, and helping them to realize their event vision.
