Amy re-purposing flowers from Leslie & Randy's wedding

reBloomed is a community project that was created during the tear-down of Bourbon & Bloom's first wedding. Our couple had spent a few thousand dollars filling their venue with gorgeous blooms, but at the end of the night the couple could not take them home.

Rather than see the still fresh blooms tossed in the garbage, we asked if the couple wouldn't mind if we donate them instead. So the next day the blooms were repurposed into hand-tied posie arrangements and brought to one of the the retirement centers in Stittsville. The residents went crazy for them and we were thrilled that these refreshed blooms were able to continue bringing joy.

Since that day, so many of our couples have allowed us to donate their flowers after their wedding day, and the project has since spread to florists and other planners in the city!

The Algonquin College Event Management Program is where each member of Bourbon & Bloom got their start. The program is a perfect balance between in-class and hands-on learning, and the professors care deeply about setting their students up for the best possible future.

As part of the program, students are required to form groups and plan a fundraising event with a zero-dollar budget. All proceeds from the events go towards the Children's Wish Foundation, raising more than $1M to date!

The program director brings in seasoned industry professionals to work with each group, helping them to refine their event and make it a great success.

Cait not only works seasonally mentoring teams during their planning process, but also brings on an annual winter intern to help train them directly in the wedding side of the industry.
