Emerald & Garnet Summer Wedding at Jabulani Winery
Before I tell you all about the incredible day that was Tory and Jordan's June wedding, I have to tell you the crazy story of my morning leading up to it.
It was early in the morning on Tory and Jordan's wedding day. I was enjoying a few more minutes in bed before getting things started for the day when I heard an aggressive pounding on our front door. I ran down in my pajamas and pulled open the door to discover to police officers, asking if I was Cait O'Malley and did I know where my car was. I told them of course I knew where it was and I leaned around them to point at my parking spot only to discover my car was not there. As it turns out, someone decided to break into my car and take it on a joy ride, destroying someones fence and yard, before eventually crashing into a hydro pole.
The first question I asked was whether anyone had been injured - no, thank God! The second question was, "Can I deal with this later; I have a wedding to run?" I don't think the cops were very impressed at this, but it's not like a wedding can be rescheduled! The answer was a rather blunt, 'No.".
Fortunately, I have an amazing team of assistants, who jumped in to take over until I could get there, which, amazingly enough, was only about 15 minutes late after filing my reports and getting a rental car. Thank God for speedy showers, dry shampoo, and amazing assistants who have food and coffee waiting for you!
The day was actually wonderful, despite the rocky start to things on my end. It was classic summer day in Ottawa with the rain holding off just long enough for the outdoor ceremony and later producing a stunning double rainbow that perfectly framed the beautiful winery.
Tory looked absolutely stunning in a Maggie Sottero wedding gown adorned with beautiful bead-work along the neckline. Her bridesmaids glowed in the most incredible shade of emerald green, offset by lush bouquets featuring vibrant red and delicate white flowers. Meanwhile the groom and groomsmen were looking especially dapper in dark grey suits, matching emerald ties and brown leather shoes.
Jabulani was the perfect setting for this fun-loving couple, and the room absolutely glowed with all of their décor. Emerald green runners and merlot chair sashes popped perfectly against the farm tables, while succulents in antique silver wine goblets added an elegant modern flare. Details such as a sign reading, "After all this time? Always.", and framed photos from their 10+ year relationship together, capped off the aesthetic perfectly for Tory and Jordan's laid back wedding.
I've got to say, this was probably one of the most fun, happy going bridal parties I've ever worked with. From the spontaneous dance parties, the unending laughter, and the sweetest speeches I've heard at a wedding, there was nothing but carefree joy and unrelenting love in this group. And did I mention the dance parties?! Tory and Jordan's playlist had all of the best throw-back hits, rocking Spice Girls, Backstreet Boy, Destiny's Child and Usher just to name a few. Those two really know how to throw a party!
